Luke's New Friends

Last night Luke got to meet some new friends! Julian and his momma, Lacy (we used to teach together) came to town (they live in Houston). Thanks to Cindy H., she invited everyone over to her house for a get-together so everyone could finally meet! This past fall there were 4 of us that were pregnant and all due within a few weeks of each other. Luke is the oldest, born on Nov. 2. Sadie, the only girl out of the bunch, was born on Nov. 26. Julian was born on Dec. 5 and Carson was born on Dec. 22. Unfortunately Sadie didn't get to make it last night, but all of the boys got to meet!! At one point Lacy put Julian down with Luke to see if they would look at each other, play, touch, etc. He first just rubbed Julians hair...probably wondering what it was, since he doesn't have any! Then....Luke decided to be a bully! He began to grab Julian's ear. What a meanie!! He must take after his Uncle Bubba! :) Here are a few pictures of the boys together!

Growing up!

I can't believe how fast Luke is growing up. Time really does fly! When Luke went for his shots, the Dr. mentioned giving him a little water by introducing a cup to him. I said "a sippy cup?". His reply was "yes, or just an open cup, if you're drinking some water, put it up to his mouth". Well....I bought him a sippy cup! He tried drinking out of it for the first time last night. He was quite intrigued by the thing! He did get some out and at one point was actually drinking, but mostly he played with it. Also, I tried giving him some fruit last night...he HATED it! He made the funniest face and would spit it out. I tried some applesauce and banana. He LOVES all the vegetables but did not care for the fruit!

Well...today Luke went for his 4 month check up and shots (yes, we are a little late, since he will be 5 months old in a few days....but, the 2 month visit was late because it was the first LATE appt. the Dr. had and then we just had to go 2 months from that....so, now that I've explained it and you really didn't even care!?!?).
So...he was a trooper today! He weighed in at 14 lbs 15 oz...basically 15 lbs!! And he is now 26 inches long...he's grown 3 inches in 2 months! He had to get 2 shots and an oral. He cried when he got the shots, of course....but, for just a couple of minutes and then was fine!

He has no idea that he is about to get shots! Such a happy boy!

After he ate his dinner and played in his excercauser for a while, he has fallen asleep. He usually wants to be held and rocked to sleep...not this time. He was laying in his boppy and just couldn't keep those eyes open any longer. I'm going to have to wake him soon so he can get a bath...and hopefully sleep all night!

More Spring Break

Here are some more pictures from spring break. We had a great time and wasn't ready to come home yet!! Luke never made it to the beach, but he did get to go swimming in the pool (we didn't stay in long because the water was cold and he was shivering!). Luke loved going to the park and swinging. It looks like we will have to get a swing at home....soon! And, Luke did AWESOME on the airplane. He would look around and check everything out for the first 20 minutes or so and then fell asleep until we landed. I forgot to take a picture of him on his first plane ride...oh, well...maybe I will remember this summer on his 2nd plane ride! :) I have so many good pictures, but here are a few!! Enjoy!!

Spring Break Pictures

I can't believe spring break is almost over! Luke and I have been enjoying visiting Memaw and Grandpa....and the weather here is gorgeous! Luke still hasn't made it to the beach yet, but maybe tomorrow. I did go to the beach the other day and got roasted! Not fun!! Today we took Luke to the park...he loved the swing! SPRING BREAK!!

WooHoo...it's finally here (well...in about 5 hours!)!!! Luke and I are excited about spring break. Luke will be taking his first of many plane rides! We are going to go and visit Memaw and Grandpa for the week. I'm excited/anxious/nervous about being on a plane with Luke. I'm sure it will be just fine...I've seen plenty of other mommy's do it. And...at least our flight is only an hour and fifteen minutes. I am hoping that the weather will be nice down there. We have plans of going back to the beach and actually swimming this time! But...if the weather is bad, we can at least go swimming in the indoor pool! I know that Memaw and Grandpa are super excited for Luke to get there (I don't think they're as excited about me coming! Ha! You know, it's all about Luke now!!). I will try to update next week and share some pictures of our trip. If you have spring break---I hope you have a wonderful and safe time where ever you go!! Rolling Over

Luke is now rolling over!!! About 3 weeks ago, he rolled over for the first time...and then never did it again. Well, this weekend...he has started....and hasn't stopped!! :) He is rolling over from his tummy to his back. He is a tummy sleeper....I know...they say for them to sleep on their backs. But my baby like to sleep on his tummy, just like his momma! It is so funny to walk into his room and see him laying there on his back, looking up and smiling! Oh....I forgot...Luke is now sleeping in his OWN room! He has been sleeping in the cradle in my room for the first 4 months of his life. Now...he's a big boy!! I don't think I get much sleep, though because I keep going in and checking on him all through the night.

Stuffy Nose and Pictures!

Luke has had a stuffy nose for the past week, so I took him to the Dr. I knew there was nothing wrong and that there was nothing they could do...but, for peace of mind...I took him anyways! Of course, he was just stopped up and the Dr. said to use the saline in his nose and run the humidifier (which I had already been doing). I also bought some baby vicks and some humidifier/vaporizer plug ins. I hope these work soon! I feel sorry for the boy! Oh...and at least by taking him to the Dr., I found out he weighs 14 lbs. now!!

This week I started feeding him vegetables!! The first couple of days he didn't quite no what to do. So, I would just put the food up to his lips and he would taste it. Then, all of a sudden, he figured out what to do and he opens his mouth and likes it!! I have only given him green beans so far...just making sure he's not allergic. Tonight we will start on something else...maybe carrots! And, this week I bought him an exercauser!!! He loves it. He gets in and works himself all the way around until he's played with all the toys! Okay...just a few more. I have to share the adorable baseball (of course!) outfit that Memaw and Grandpa bought Luke. He has some tennis shoes on to match, but you can't really see them in the picture. We had the hat already...it matched perfectly!!

Happy 4 Months!!

I can't believe that four months ago Luke was born. It seems like only yesterday that I was holding him in my arms for the first time. Boy has he grown in 4 months!! He is such a happy baby...always smiling and never crying. I am so blessed to have such a great baby. Here is a picture of him with the sock monkey this morning...

This morning when I was taking pictures he was laughing and smiling. I got a few really cute pictures. In the past months, some have made comments that he looks scared of the monkey. Well, this month...he doesn't looked scared! He is friends with the monkey!! Check him out hugging it and trying to give it a kiss!!! SOOOOOO CUTE!!!
