Luke's Loveseat

I have finished rearranging Luke's room...for now!. Memaw and Grandpa bought Luke a cradle that turns into a loveseat!!! I finally got it out of my room (he hasn't been in it since he was 4 mo. old) and converted it to the loveseat and put it in his room. I left the bumper pad on it to make it cushiony (is that a word?) and put some of his stuffed animals on it. I know that he can't sit on it now....who knows, he will probably be trying to climb up into it!, but I wanted to get it in his room (and out of mine!!).
Isn't this the cutest onesie that I bought while we were on vacation!
Luke's Loveseat and toy area

Luke had to be contained in his crib while I was moving furniture!!

It didn't take him long to discover the new addition to his room....and take everything off!!

Homer

Luke is finally big enough (and has figured out how) to ride "Homer". He doesn't really hold on or rock back and forth....he like to jump on him!!

Look who misses someone...

Yesterday Luke found a framed picture of Memaw and Grandpa on a bench in the hallway. I took it from him and told him no and put it back. We left to go out to eat and when we came back, the first place he went was the hallway. I heard a loud noise and just knew he had pulled something on him and he was going to be hurt. Nope...he had remembered where Memaw and Grandpa's picture was and had went to get it!! This is what I found when I walked in the hallway. I think he misses them!!!

Back home...

Well, we finally made it back to Texas (after an extra 2.5 hour layover in Atlanta!). Sorry that I didn't get to post much while I was gone...not much internet service at the Lake and then Mom's internet finally quit!). So...now, I will attempt to update you on all that has happened in the last month.
*Luke had a great time with his Memaw and Grandpa. Memaw loved playing with him and reading to him. Grandpa took Luke on daily walks around the Lake.
*Luke has learned to crawl anywhere he wants...literally!! (Here he is in the nightstand at the hotel! *Luke learned how to pull himself up and he has begun to take a few steps walking around things.
*Luke learned how to climb up the 3 stairs at Memaw and Grandpa's. His favorite thing to do, was to crawl up the steps, go into the bathroom and pull the toilet paper off (and...if the bathroom door was shut...he knew there was another one on the other side and would go to it!!)!! *Luke learned to crawl into drawers!
*Luke learned how to pat-a-cake and how to wave bye.
*Luke went swimming in a BIG pool (not our little backyard one!)...and LOVED it!! I can tell I have a water baby!!
*Luke went fishing!!
*Luke now has 4 teeth...and a 5th on the way!!!

Just some other cute pictures....

Luke's ready to drive!! This is his Great Great Uncle's 47 Ford.

Luke loves to swing!!

Checking himself out in Memaw's mirror

Mommy spiked Luke's hair!! He looked rotten!!! ;-)

Grandpa's Little Amish Boy

While we were in the heart of Amish country, Grandpa decided that Luke needed to dress the part. So...of course, he went and bought him Amish overalls and a hat!

8 Months Old

My Dearest Luke,
Today is your 8 Month birthday! You have blessed me in so many ways over the past 8 months. You amaze me everyday! In the past month you have learned so many new things. You...
*get anywhere you want! You started out army crawling (on your belly)...now you are up on all fours and can move very quickly!
*have 3 teeth!
*have learned how to give rasberries! You do it quite often and want someone to do it back to you.
*have learned how to pat-a-cake. You immediately start clapping when Memaw or Grandpa ask you to pat-a-cake.
*have learned how to pull yourself up. You are always pulling yourself up on the couch, the chair, the steps...basically anywhere you can grab onto and pull up!
*have learned how to climb up steps. (I'm not too thrilled about this new one!)
I am loving every minute of being your mommy! You make me sooo proud!!
I love you,
Mommy
