Shopping

Today was a nice day...too nice to stay inside! So...we decided to go for a stoll at the mall! The mall in Cedar Hill is an outdoor mall...and it is very nice! I loaded Luke up in the stroller and off we went. We really weren't going to buy anything, just mainly to get out in the beautiful weather. I did buy him a Texas ABC book (I looked through all the pages first to make sure there was no mention of that nasty school down south...you know...the one that is burnt orange!) at Barnes and Noble. Here is Luke looking all cool as we shopped...

After shopping/browsing for awhile, I thought...I haven't heard Luke in awhile. I checked on him and he was sound asleep sitting up in his stroller. So...I layed him down and browsed some more! He didn't nap long! We then headed to Walmart to get a few things. As I went to get him out of the car, this is they way I found him...Is that not the cutest thing or what? I was cracking up at him! (This might possibly be one of my all-time favorite pictures of him!)

Oh...and let me give everyone a crawling update! This boy is quick! He has now discovered that he can get just about anywhere he wants. One of his favorite places is under his swing...he like the tag hanging off of it. I've gotta make sure I Luke-proof this house quick! I put him down, turn around...and he's gone!

Six Month Check up

Today was Luke's 6 month check up (even though he will be 7 months old in less than a week!). Luke now weighs 17 lbs and 10 oz (I sure thought he felt a lot heavier than that!) and he is 27 in long. Dr. Hunke said that Luke looks very healthy and was amazed at how active he is!! He kept commenting on how advanced he was and that he would probably be walking between 9-10 months!! Dear Lord...help me now!!! Dr. Hunke also said that Luke's top teeth are about to come through and should be in within the next month!
Then....the shots! Poor baby had to get 3 shots and an oral. The nurse stuck him really quick, but he still cried. Although, he only cried for about 30 seconds and then was fine. By the time I got him dressed and we went to checkout, he was friends again with the nurse...laughing and flirting with her!! I am still so amazed that God gave me this wonderful son. I have the most perfect, happiest little boy!!

WaterBoy

Luke loves his bathtime, so I assumed he would like being in the pool. Of course, we have no pool...so, I bought him a little one ring blow up type. Tonight was the first time we used it. And...I was right...he LOVED the water. He sat in it and just splashed away! He looked so cute and grown up sitting there with his sunglasses on! Now...I can't wait until we get to Memaw and Grandpa's and he can get in the water there!

We are.....CRAWLING!!

Last night Luke was on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. So...I knew it wouldn't be long until he was crawling. Well, tonight he did it!! He was up on his hands and knees and I could tell he was about to move...so I went and grabbed the camera. I had his ball and he started for it! Then, I put it on the other end of the blanket and he crawled down there to get it!!! Here are the short videos that I took. (Oh...and just ignore my voice in the videos!)

Hi Memaw and Grandpa

Memaw and Grandpa are in Ohio. Luke has not seen them in a month (and won't see them for almost another month)...and he sure is missing them! The last couple of nights he has been kissing the phone while he is "talking" to Memaw. He sure does recognize her voice. A few weeks ago, he was laying down and as soon as he heard her voice over spearkerphone, he shot up and started looking for her!!

Okay...so, all of that was to let you know that I will be updating the blog with lots of pictures in the next couple of weeks. Memaw is always wanting to see pictures and it takes forever for the pictures to download over email. Hope you don't mind seeing pictures of my precious little boy!

I still can't believe that I am finally a MOMMY!! This is what I've wanted my whole life and now I'm living the dream!! It is even more awesome than I thought! Now that I'm a mommy, I can't describe how much the love for my mother has grown and how much more I appreciate her. Luke and I are truly blessed to have such a wonderful lady in our lives. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us. We hope you have a wonderful and relaxing day! Happy Mother's Day Mom!!! We love you!

Wild Man!

Yummy....but MESSY!!!

Now that Luke has his 1st tooth, I have been searching for "teething cookies/biscuits". I didn't realize how hard they were to find. Well, tonight I finally found them and gave one to Luke. Let's just say....he LOVED them! But...they are MESSY!! Oh, well....I'm glad he enjoyed it. I'm sure it is just the beginning of our messiness!! Take at look what Luke looked like when he first started eating the cookie and then check out what he looked like after!

Boy....have we changed!

Yes...2 posts in one day! I decided to post all of the monthly monkey pictures together. Look at how much Luke has changed in looks during his first 6 months of life!

6 Months!

Today Luke is 6 months old!! Half a year!!! Where has the time gone? I can't believe how much Luke is growing each month and all of the new things he is doing. As of today, he can now...
*roll over (in all directions!)
*sit up on his own for 10-15 minutes before getting tired!
*roll/scoot all over the floor
*splash in the bath (he thinks it is sooo fun!)
*make "smacking" sounds with his mouth
I'm sure there are many more things that I am not remembering at this moment.

We went for our 6 month pictures today and they were adorable! I try NOT spend lots of money on pictures...but, when your kid is sooo darn cute...you have to buy lots of poses! I'll post a few of those pictures when I get them. But, for now, here is his 6 month monkey picture and a few others! Enjoy!!
