On the road again!

Yesterday we went to Okla. again! My dad had to go for a dr. appt, so Luke and I rode along with mom and dad. It was a quick trip, but we did get to see a few people! Aunt Heather came to the hotel to hang out for a few hours after we arrived. Today, I got to see my best friend from high school, Sonya and go to lunch with her. She came down to see Luke when he was a week old...boy, has he grown since then! We also got to see my friend, Chris, who became a daddy for the first time on Sept. 7. His little girl, Sydni is beautiful...she's gonna be Luke's girlfriend! Here are a few pictures...

Laughing Luke

I'm not sure when babies are supposed to start laughing...I was thinking it was not this soon. But...I am blessed to have a happy baby! Luke loves to smile and laugh. He especially likes it when his Memaw is singing or talking to him. I have been trying to take a picture of him smiling or laughing for a few weeks now, but he quits as soon as he sees the camera! What a stinker!! Last night, he was laughing and I finally got a picture with my phone (so, it's not the greatest quality).

More Christmas!

On Christmas Day, we drove to Okla. to spend Christmas with my mom's side of the family. Luke did good riding in the car, as usual...he slept! He was passed around and passed around during the day! But, he's such a good baby that he never got fussy. He did get to take a few short naps, too. Aunt Heather bought him some really cool OU sweatsuits. He will be wearing one to daycare on Jan. 8 for sure!! :)

We only stayed one night in Okla, so we could get back in time for our next company. Luke finally got to meet his Uncle Bubba, Aunt Holly and cousins, Colby and Cannon. Colby already decided he had a name for Luke. He has named him "Luker". He is such a funny kid! We opened presents, ate pizza and visited for awhile. Cannon is a fireball! It's funny how opposite him and Colby are!! Today was Uncle Bubba's birthday....so we all went out to eat to celebrate. We also took the boys to get their picture taken in the matching outfits that Memaw and Grandpa bought them. What an experience! Colby loves to get his picture taken and was so patient. Cannon hates to get his picture taken and it was a fight to finally get him to sit still long enough to get it done. And...it was time for Luke to eat, so he started getting fussy. I was trying to feed him in between shots! We DID get a good picture of the boys for Memaw and Grandpa!! Yeah!!

Luke's 1st Christmas!

We celebrated and opened presents on Christmas Eve (since we were leaving in the morning for Okla.). Of course Luke didn't know anything was going on...but, he sure got a lot of really cool stuff!! Okay...Grandpa thinks he is going to become a "professional" photographer! He keeps seeing all of the adorable baby pictures with their hands or feet or naked ones with the black backgrounds. Yesterday my dad decided he was going to try it....so, today he went and bought a black background. Poor Luke! He really didn't want to have any part of the pictures! We did get a few shots that turned out pretty good. The naked pictures on his belly...well....he was wanting his clothes back on! He didn't like it! Here are a few of the pictures....

Sick....and miserable!

Can you believe that it's almost Christmas and I'm sick??!!?? My first Christmas with Luke...my first Christmas as a mommy...and I'm miserable! I'm hoping that Luke doesn't get sick. He does have a stuffy nose, but I'm hoping that is all he gets! I don't want a sick baby! I know eventually my baby will get sick (unless I'm really lucky!), but I don't want it to be now!! Pray that we get better before Santa comes!

Santa's visit

Santa (aka Grandpa) came to visit Mommy's class for both of her parties today. Memaw came along and brought Luke for everyone to see. Here are a couple of pictures of Luke and Santa.

It was really cold last week and it's supposed to be cold again...my kind of weather! Not the greatest for getting a baby out. But...here are a few pictures of Luke all bundled to go out!

1 month pictures

Luke's 1 month pictures finally came in! I had mentioned before how he was kinda fussy and we didn't get very many good shots. This is the package picture that I purchased...I thought it was adorable (that is not his teddy!)! Too bad you can't see his POLO shoes in the picture! There is another picture where he is holding my finger that is precious (I just forgot to bring it to work to scan!).

It's hectic getting things ready for Christmas...shopping, baking, making arrangements where you are going to celebrate, etc. Here is a little something to make you laugh and forget about the hustle and bustle of the season for a few minutes!

Merry Christmas from Luke & his mommy!

Heaven in a Chair!

Lately Luke has been a little fussy and wanting to be held! I LOVE holding him...but, I don't want to spoil him...and I DO have things I need to get done! I have tried him in his swing (both of them), but he only lasts a little while and he only stays on his new toy for a little bit before getting fussy. So, last night I pulled out this other chair...a VIBRATING chair...that I received at my shower (Thanks Tammy & Debbie!). I put Luke it in and never heard a sound from him!! He LOVES it!! He stayed in it while I washed bottles and did dishes. This afternoon, he is in it again!! He fell asleep in it and I turned it off, but he woke up...so I had to turn it back on! If you have a little one...I suggest you get one of these things (buy it for Christmas!!)!!!

5 weeks old

Luke was 5 weeks old yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time is going...I have to go back to work next week. I'm not looking forward to leaving my baby! :( At least my parents will be here to take care of him for the week. And...I only have to work a week and then I will be off again for 2 weeks! I ordered Luke's 1st Christmas ornament (from the same website the stocking came from...I LOVE that site!!) and they came in today...check them out!!

Luke has 2 new friends who have arrived! Sadie Elaine was born on Nov. 26 and weighed 8 lbs. Julian Travis was born on Dec. 5 and weighed 8lbs. 6oz. Luke is ready to meet both of his new friends and have playdates! Congratulations Jill and Lacy...you will love motherhood. I'm glad that we are all experiencing this together!!

What a week!

This week has been long and busy! We came back Monday from Okla. and have been trying to settle back in. While it was great to see everyone, we are glad to be back at our own house. Tuesday we went to buy Luke's "big" Christmas present and get pictures made with Santa. My parents left on Wed. and we are still adjusting to be ALONE!! Luke misses his Memaw singing to him! Also, on Wed. I took Luke to get his 1 month pictures made. He didn't enjoy them too much! So, needless to say, the photographer only got a few poses for me to choose from. Yesterday, I had to take Luke to get some blood work done. It was NOT fun! They pricked his heel and had to get 2 little vials of blood. Luke screamed and screamed and cried and cried....he had REAL TEARS coming down his face. I felt so bad for him. He was kicking his legs and making it difficult...so, I tried to comfort him and hold his legs down. It took between 10-20 minutes to get it all done. At one point, I almost picked him up and told the man to forget it!! He was hurting my baby!! I don't know what I'm going to do when he has to get shots! Any volunteers to come and take him?? :) Today, we are just going to chill at home! I hope everyone has had a great week. Tomorrow is the Big 12 game...Luke will be cheering on OU in his new OU onesie and socks!! BOOMER SOONER!!

Luke went to see Santa today!! He was asleep while we waited in line and woke up just a little when it was our turn. He actually has one eye peeking open (it's hard to tell on here!)!

1 month old!

I can't believe that today is Luke's 1 month birthday!! I've always heard how time flies...but, it really does. It does not seem like I've been a mommy for a month now. I sure am enjoying my bundle of joy! He is the best thing that's ever happened!!
Here is a picture of him today! He is a growing boy! I'm going to take a picture of him with this monkey (specially made by Memaw) on the 2nd of every month to show how much he's grown from month to month!

Special Gift

Last Friday, an old friend (who came in town to visit family for Thanksgiving) came to see Mommy and meet Luke. She brought a special gift she had made for Luke. It is perfect in his room! Thanks Kimbree!

Luke's 1st Road Trip...and misc. pics!

This weekend Luke and I went to Okla with my mom and dad. My aunt, uncle and cousin flew in from Ohio to surprise my grandma, so we went up to visit with everyone...and of course, to show Luke off! :) Luke does very well in the car....he sleeps! We had a good time vising with everyone and of course, Luke was held and kissed by everyone.

We also went by my old school (where I went from 1st-Graduation), so my mom could show him off to all of her former coworkers and my old teachers. It was fun showing him off and seeing everyone. Luke's a superstar at the school...there are several pictures blown up and taped to the office door for everyone to see!!

After a long weekend, we are ALL wore out!! I don't think we will be going anywhere for awhile. It takes a lot to get a baby all packed and ready to go somewhere along with getting all of your things together! Here are a few pictures from this weekend that I thought I would share. Enjoy!

Luke's 1st Thanksgiving!

Today is Luke's first holiday...Thanksgiving!! He enjoyed some turkey, yummy stuffing, mashed potatoes and corn...and then topped it off with some pecan pie for dessert! Just kidding...he celebrated his first Thanksgiving with several bottles of formula...yum! Luke and his mommy are very thankful, not only on Thanksgiving, but everyday for his wonderful Memaw and Grandpa...they are the best anyone could ask for! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend time with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!!
